Another season ends and another to begin...
It's unbelievable to me that CLNS Radio has just concluded our 7th season covering the Boston Celtics. So much has changed since our first season covering the team. In many ways, the 2015-16 NBA season was the most rewarding, and the most challenging. Like the Celtics, CLNS has also rebooted and upgraded many aspects of our coverage. Because our company was founded on Celtics coverage, our business calendar begins and ends with the Boston Celtics season. So, as the C's Playoff run ended on Thursday, CLNS 2016-17 calendar now begins.
As Founder of North Station Media, I wanted to check in today to extend a huge THANK YOU to Celtics Nation. I'd also like to thank our hard working staff of writers, podcast hosts and personalities, camera men, producers, technicians, and locker room staff.
2015-16 saw a brand new group of Celtics fans join our audience. I want to personally extend thanks to the Facebook communities that embraced and shared our work. Particularly, Nic at the Boston Celtics (Bleed Green) group, the folks at Celtics Nation and Igor/Daniel at Boston Celtics(We Bleed Green) forum and, of course, a VERY SPECIAL thanks to Nicola Bogani and his Celtic Nation Italia Facebook group.
As for our staff...
Podcast/Broadcast:
I cannot say enough really. In no particular order, a special thanks to Larry H. Russell and Celtics Beat. From the line up of national and regional guests, to the 52 weeks of non-stop podcast episodes, Celtics Beat has become the #1 downloaded Celtics' Podcast on iTunes- we cannot thank you enough for your support.
Additionally, midway thru the season, LHR and I have worked on almost an hourly basis to keep the great Celtics content rolling with the brand new Celtics PRE Game Report. Because of the huge success this show garnered, we will most certainly be bringing it back to you for the 2016-17 season. As if that's not enough, LHR has also taken on the reigns of working with Sean Bakke on CLNS New England Patriots. This season we wished longtime CLNS veterans, Jeff Kane and Bobby Krivitsky best of luck with their newest ventures. Needing a quick retool, LHR again stepped up to the plate. With a brand new cast of personalities behind the mic, the Patriots Beat Podcast is now back to weekly broadcasts and has taken on the same format as Celtics Beat. While we wish Kane and Krivitsky a fond farewell, their departure brought on new additions to the CLNS format. We welcome Mike, Marvin, Mike Alongi and Harris Rubenstein to the Patriots Beat roster of hosts. Stay tuned Patriots fans as the Pats Post-Game Show will be returning this season as well. Again, a big thanks to Larry H. Russell who has contributed to all of these upgrades while continuing to raise the bar on quality and cohesion amongst all aspects of Patriots' and Celtics' programing.
I'd also like to shout out, Jason Buckley and his Bruins Beat Podcast, Jess Thomas, Lauren Campbell and Jared Scali and their Red Sox Beat Podcast. Without these hardworking hosts and producers, the CLNS Beat Series would not be complete nor as popular.
One of the high points of this season for me was the return of Justin Poulin and Jon Duke. Celtics Stuff Live is back and better than ever. The resounding response from Celtics' fans has been staggering. CSL continues to add to their legacy as THE ORIGINAL Celtics Podcast and the inspiration/motivation behind the CLNS Radio Podcast Network all those years ago.
With the return of CSL, The CLNS, Celtics Post-Game Show has had a complete reboot by adding Poulin and Duke to our rotation of amazing hosts and analysts. Also, a HUGE welcome (and thanks) to newcomers Bobby Manning of CelticsBlog, Josue Pavon of WEEI, Nic S'Cento of the Bleed Green forum and Patrick Gilroy of ESPN New Hampshire. These great hosts, plus our veteran cast of characters has really breathed new life into the post-game shows. Reminiscent of our coverage during the Big Three era, this post-season run found packed call lines, social media engagement and an abundance of mailbag entries. Additionally, I'd like to thank Warren Shaw, Cal Lee (of the Baseline Podcast), Jess Thomas of Red Sox Beat Podcast, Brian Langford of The Evening Score Podcast, Mike "The Scotsman" Munger and, of course, Calvin Chamberlain, our longest tenured CLNS contributor AND ironically, a Lakers fan. Lastly, a huge thanks to the Post-Game Show producer, Matt Rury. None of the Post-Game Show would ever go live without Matt's hard work and dedication to a program that's been broadcasting after EVERY Celtics game, since 2010.
A/V Coverage:
Jared Weiss and Jimmy Toscano on the Garden Report. What can I say? Jared works tirelessly, often times until the wee hours of the morning to bring Celtics fans A/V content, available on the CLNS YouTube channel. Jared also stepped up his writing game this season, contributing regular game recaps and full columns to both CLNS Radio and CelticsBlog. Jared never missed a Garden Report episode and added a LIVE FEED element to the broadcast via the CLNS Radio Facebook Page. The dude is a machine and never stops. Follow him on Twitter at CLNS_JaredWeiss. Jimmy Toscano of CelticsBlog and CSNNE, has been on the Garden Report since it's first season, in 2012. Big thanks to Jimmy who works around deadlines, late nights and our crazy requests while barely ever missing an episode of the Garden Report. Also, big thanks to WEEI Sam Packard who filled in often when Jimmy was not available. Lastly, thank you to SB Nation and Jeff Clark of CelticsBlog for their great support of our programming throughout the NBA season. We are looking forward to another successful campaign with the folks at CelticsBlog in 2016, 17 and beyond.
Also, I cannot forget the blog.
Thank you to all of our hard working writers. Special thanks to Cory Prescott and his team, who's tireless work kept our site pumping with valuable information. One thing that people do not really realize is that our highest volume of web hits come to our Red Sox and Bruins blog content. That wouldn't be possible without the tireless commitment of Jess Thomas and his Red Sox writing team and Jason Buckley, Kevin Maggiore and the amazing crew of Bruins writers on-staff.
Yes, CLNS Radio is an A/V company. Our main focus is our podcast and YouTube content of the Celtics but, without the great contributions of our Red Sox, Bruins and Pats writing staffs, our blog community would be a quiet place.
All that said, 2015-16 was an amazingly successful year. We cannot thank you all enough for coming along on this journey with us. We look forward to bringing you the most comprehensive coverage of your favorite New England sports teams in 2016, 17 and beyond.
Stay tuned to the CLNS Facebook page www.facebook.com/clnsfans and the CLNS Twitter account (@CLNSRadio) for more updates on the many programs we have planned throughout the off-season. And, don't forget to show us your support by downloading the FREE CLNS mobile app for android and iOS, leaving a rating and review on your favorite CLNS podcast and, of course, considering donating to the CLNS Radio crowdfunding campain at patreon.com/CLNSradio in any amount- no amount is too little.
So on behalf of my business partners, Sean Bakke and Ty Ray, God Bless and Thank you.
Sincerely,
CEO | Founder | Co-Owner
