In games 1 and 2 of the NBA 1st Round Playoffs, Doc Rivers has been hesitant to play deep into his bench. Playing a confusing 8-man rotation that, in game 1, didn't include any big men, Doc has said he expects a lift from his role players now that the Celtics have returned to Boston. We can expect that Doc may dig deeper into his bench.

In a report issued by Jay King/Mass Live, Doc Rivers said that role players play better at home. It's Jay's opinion that Doc may pull more players off the pine to relieve his starters. I sure hope he does.

Mid-way thru game 2, the CLNS authors group was a buzz with questions regarding Courtney Lee and his absence from the rotations. Doc opted for Jordan Crawford because he supplies more scoring punch. Rivers has been open about his affinity for Crawford's offensive abilities but did not rule out a return to rotation for Lee either. Doc has put his guard rotation in the hands of the matchups and the scoring that's needed. No question, Jordan will continue to launch 9-12 shot attempts in his limited action. While Lee provides bull dog defense and a mild ability to knock down the occasion jumper.

So.. what do the Celtics need along side Avery Bradley in the back court? Lee's stingy defense or Crawford's stingy offense?

No question, the sticking point for Boston has been their offense. The Celtics have only shot two percentage points lower than the Knicks in games 1 and 2. What's been disturbing, however, are the lack of digits in the shots attempted category. Through 2 games, the Celtics have shot 20 less attempts than the NY Knicks. This has been a concerning number through the entire season for Boston.

Of course, home cookin' helps...

Kevin Garnett has struggled through the first two games of the 1st round with the New York Knicks. According to Doc Rivers, Garnett is suffering thru a 'hip injury' but is expected to play in game 3.

From Mike Petraglia of WEEI.com:

"He got hit in the, it's not a hip flexor, a hip pointer," said Rivers. "It's very similar to having a hip flexor in football, I guess."

In games 1 and 2, Garnett has played a combined, 50 minutes, while shooting 8-21 from the field and scoring 20 points. Garnett has held up the boards, grabbing 11 rebounds in just 24 minutes of play in game 2.

the Big Ticket's lack of production in the first 2 games of this series has left Celtics fans begging for the KG of old and not the old Kevin Garnett. This injury is certainly a set back in this series as Garnett has struggled with leg problems, hampering his mobility, since his 2009 knee surgery.

Stay tuned to the NBA - Boston Celtics Magazine, on CLNS Radio for more details on Garnett's situation.

The Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation has committed to raising $200,000.00 to benefit the victims and injured of the Boston Marathon Bombings.

In an official press release from the Boston Celtics, they said:

“Our Celtics family and our fans join all Bostonians in demonstrating our city’s great strength by coming together to stand as one to get through this difficult time ,” Boston Celtics Managing Partner and Shamrock Foundation President Stephen Pagliuca said. “We are proud of all the heroic efforts that were made during this horrible tragedy and would like to show our support to those victimized by this terrible act.”

The Celtics are struggling on the court in their first round series against the New York Knicks but they are not struggling to raise money for Bostonians injured or murdered in the horrific crimes of April 15, 2013. Read Full Story

It's been very difficult for me to put into words the impact of the Boston Marathon Bombings. Being a Pennsylvania resident, 400 miles away from Boston, I can honestly say that I've never felt so helpless. My friends, co-workers, colleagues and listeners are so far away. During the hours following the bombings, I was unable to locate people via email, cell phone or text as the city had scrambled all mobile service. In some instances, I was able to track down people on Facebook and Twitter - the power of social media continues to floor me.

As the calls and text messages started to pour in from my local friends, making sure I was not in Boston on Monday, my mind had twisted and turned to so many Bostonians that I've developed a friendship with over my years of blogging and Podcasting. Donna and Rick Murphy, Matt Ribaudo, Teddy Ribaudo, Jay King, Aztec Gino, Matt Rury, Jared Weiss, Lucas Parolin, Jimmy Toscano, Evans Clinchey, Chris McCarthy, Maria Piccillo, my friends at Supah Fans and so many more. I couldn't locate them fast enough!

CLNS Radio's staff, callers, listeners, writers and readers have truly become a 2nd family to me. Ty Ray of the Celtics Post Game Show is so fond of saying that CLNS Radio is not a business, it's not a network or radio station, it's a family! Ty Ray has been saying that since I met him last summer. I can honestly say, after the tragedies that has struck New England recently, we are truly a family! Boston really is a brotherhood.

Throughout the days following April 15, 2013, my inbox has been full of people wishing their prayers to our CLNS community of contributors, on-air personalities, callers, guests and journalists. Also flooding my inbox was an onslaught of media requests from radio stations, podcasts and news papers across the country. We obliged every request, however, I didn't feel it appropriate to self-promote these appearances and interviews as they may be construing our appearances as self-promotion during a time when personal needs should come last.

Now that the news coverage has died down a bit, I think it's fair to recap some of these interviews. Above you will find a compilation video of the more touching audio-cuts from our personalities' appearances throughout the United States and Europe. We also threw in a couple sound bytes from the loyal callers that never miss a CLNS broadcast. Thank-you all and as we are approaching the 7-day mark since the bombings took place,  I'm still so relieved that you are all okay. My prayers and heart continues to remain with Bostonians.

You all probably recognize StatsAdam from the CLNS Radio - CelticsBlog Post Game Show's Lucky Number segment.

Adam Lowenstein broke out on the scene in the 2012-13 season with his "Stat Pack" on Celtics-Nation, his great game previews at CelticsHub and his voice finally became heard on the Celtics Post Game Show right here on CLNS.

Everyone knows CelticsHub but Celtics-Nation is a relatively new Celtics Blog. Upon visiting this site, for the first time, earlier this season, I was impressed by their clean and sophisticated layout but also their quality content.

I'd encourage you to check out Celtics-Nation for Adam's "Stat Pack" before today's tip-off on the NBA Playoffs. Until then... enjoy their Celtics vs Knicks 1st Round Playoff Preview Podcast.

The 2012-13 NBA Playoffs tip off today as the Boston Cetlics travel to New York to face the New York Knicks.

Today's Celtics Post Game Show will be hosted by Matt Rury and Brian Langford.

As always, the crew will be hanging around the CelticsBlog chat-room. Today's CLNS chat moderator is Sean Bakke.

The guys will be taking your calls throughout the entire broadcast. Lucas Parolin will be providing your locker room report today from Madison Square Garden.

As the Boston Marathon suspects are being hunted down, and the city of Boston mends it's wounds, the world has huddled up behind New England's finest, to show support and strength. Long-time member of the Boston Celtics, and current Memphis Grizzlie, Tony Allen reacted to the horrifying events by calling his friend Paul Pierce.

Tony Allen played 6 years with the Celtics, met his fiance in Boston and his heart remains a Bostonian.

“I called Paul Pierce,” he said. “I got his number. I texted him to see was everything cool. He was taken aback. He said it was wild up there. He said he never would have expected that to happen, but everything’s cool on his end. I prayed for everybody else.”

Allen's former team is gearing up for what may be their final playoff run of this era. In the meantime, Tony is in Memphis, gearing up for one of many playoff runs to follow. Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and company are on a total different path then their former teammate. Today, however, all hearts and minds are in Boston.
