Jimmy Garoppolo has been traded from the New England Patriots to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a 2018 second round pick according to ESPN's Ada Schefter. Garappolo was looked at as the heir to the throne once Tom Brady decided to call it quits, but it looks like the Patriots may have more faith in Brady actually playing until his mid 40's as Garappolo is now out. Garappolo looked promising as he led the Patriots to a win to start of 2016 in Arizona and also had a hot start against Miami before going down with a shoulder injury.
