Malcolm Butler has finally signed his Restricted Free Agent tender.
Although on the surface it seems like a good thing Butler is signed to his tender, it could mean the end of his time here in New England. A month ago, Butler was linked to a possible trade with the New Orleans Saints when the Patriots were negotiating for Brandin Cooks. Signing the tender means Butler will make more money this coming season with 3.91 million. As the draft gets closer it will be worth watching Butler as the Patriots have no picks in the first two rounds and Butler could be on another team to start the season. Until then, let’s hope the Patriots will come into the season with a lethal cornerback tandem in Malcolm Butler and Stephon Gilmore.
