Lars Gjesteby is a member of the Boston Red Sox Beat Team for CLNS Radio.
A native of Stow, MA, he loves playing and watching sports, and closely follows the four major Boston teams (Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins).
Lars is currently pursuing a PhD in biomedical engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), where he works to improve hardware and software for medical imaging systems, such as CT and MRI. He earned his Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering from RPI in 2014.

The Boston Red Sox (18-13) had the right stuff tonight as they cracked four home runs and got a complete game gem from their starter Steven Wright. New York Yankees (11-18) starter Luis Severino pitched pretty well himself, but his several mistakes ended up leading directly to Boston runs. The Red Sox capitalized and defeated their New York rivals on Sunday Night Baseball for the second time in the span of a week.

Despite amassing 13 hits, the Boston Red Sox (17-12) offense could only score twice tonight and fell a run short to the New York Yankees (10-17). Starters Rick Porcello and Michael Pineda matched each other until the seventh inning when Aaron Hicks hit the decisive homer. Boston’s ninth inning rally was cut short by poor umpiring and an inability to get the big hit.

For the second straight night, Jackie Bradley Jr. was the offensive hero. Through six innings, the Boston Red Sox (10-9) and the Atlanta Braves (4-15) only had three hits apiece. Rick Porcello and Julio Teheran both pitched stellar starts, but a lone homer by the Sox centerfielder provided just enough scoring to give Boston a 1-0 victory.
