The game started with an hour-and-a-half rain delay and it was also interrupted after the fifth inning with another rain delay over an hour, but in the end, the Boston Red Sox (69-53) took down the Detroit Tigers (64-59) 3-2 behind a 2-run dinger from David Ortiz and dominant pitching from Drew Pomeranz. 

On a blazing hot day, the Boston Red Sox (64-52) bats couldn't have been hotter as Mookie Betts went 4-for-6 with 3 homers and 8 RBI and Dustin Pedroia had five hits to lead the club to a 3-game sweep over the Arizona Diamondbacks (48-69) at Fenway. 

It took 11 innings and nearly four hours, but Brock Holt drove in Travis Shaw with an RBI single in the 11th to give the Boston Red Sox (59-48) a much needed 3-2 win and a four-game split with the Seattle Mariners (54-53) at Safeco Field. 

With Rick Porcello currently touting a 14-2 record and just one win away from 100 in his career, it seems like an appropriate time to delve into the turnaround that the steady 27-year old has had in his second year with the Boston Red Sox.

Could it turn into some Cy Young hardware?

David Price pitched an outstanding eight innings, but Hanley Ramirez threw the game away with a 2-run walkoff error in the ninth to complete the worst loss of the year for the Boston Red Sox (55-45) against the Los Angeles Angels (46-56).  

The Boston Red Sox (55-41) used a strong offensive attack and a good enough pitching outing by Rick Porcello (13-2) to salvage a split of a four-game series against the Minnesota Twins (37-61) with an 8-7 victory at Fenway on Sunday.

It was David Ortiz's final All-Star game of his career, and he and his Red Sox teammates combined to hit 4-for-7 and the American League won its fourth straight All-Star game by a final of 4-2 with strong efforts from the Royals' Eric Hosmer and Salvador Perez. 

Hosmer won MVP of the game in his first appearance in the game.

The Red Sox are sending six players to the All-Star game in San Diego on July 12, the most for Boston since 2011, when they also had six. 

This year, the Sox have a chance for seven as well. 

The Boston Red Sox (45-37) hit four home runs and cranked nine doubles to take game one of a three game series over the hot Texas Rangers (52-32) by a final of 12-5 in Boston.
