The Boston Red Sox begin a nine game road trip with the Oakland Athletics. It's a three game set, then they go to San Diego for three games. They finish this road trip with another three game series between the current American League East leaders, the Toronto Blue Jays.
After Wednesday night’s 8-6 victory, the Red Sox announced they would be calling up their top prospect, Yoan Moncada.
It wasn't easy, but Hanley Ramirez blasted a fifth inning grand slam and Aaron Hill gave the Boston Red Sox (74-59) the go-ahead RBI in the eighth to push his team past the Tampa Bay Rays (56-76), 8-6, in the final game of the homestand. 
Coming off a tough 4-3 loss to the Rays on Tuesday night, the Boston Red Sox (73-59) look to take two out of three from the Tampa Bay Rays (56-75) in a matinee 1:35 p.m. start at Fenway in the last game of the six-game homestand.
