Foxborough, MA--- The New England Patriots announced Friday evening that they have release wide recevier, Austin Collie, for a second time this season.
Collie did produce when the ball was thrown to him this season, recording 6 catches on 11 targets for 63 yards. Collie's best game for the Patrots came against the Dolphins when he recorded 2 catches for 25 yards.
Collie's first release from the team came a couple days after he suffered a knee injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Nov. 3rd. The Pats brought Collie back exactly a month after releasing him.
The release probably signals the return of Kenbrell Thompkins, who missed the last 3 games due to a hip injury. Collie only was out on the field for one snap against the Baltimore Ravens.
