Well, that was quick. After being cut on Saturday, rookie defensive tackle A.J. Francis is back with the Patriots, according to a NESN.com report.
Francis was on the active roster last week before being cut on Saturday. This time, the former Maryland Terrapin has reportedly been signed to practice squad. To make room for Francis, NESN also reports that the Pats have released wide receiver Quentin Sims.
Francis rejoins college teammate Joe Vellano, who is currently the backup defensive tackle behind Vince Wilfork and Tommy Kelly on the active roster.
Francis was originally picked up by the Patriots off waivers from the Dolphins on Sept. 1.
