Massachusetts state police have questioned New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez regarding a possible homicide, according to SI.com.
The Massachusetts state police questioned Hernandez on Monday and are interested in searching the tight end's home. Hernandez is not considered a suspect, but a vehicle part of the investigation was rented under Hernandez's name. A 2013 Chevrolet Suburban with Rhode Island plates is the vehicle in question, according to The Sun Chronicle of Attleboro, Massachusetts. The vehicle was rented from Enterprise and police are hoping to search the Suburban for fingerprints.
The body of a 27 year old male from Boston was discovered in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, less than one mile from Hernandez's home. The body was discovered in a clearing near Hernandez's home 5:30 Monday evening, according to a statement by Bristol County DA Sam Sutter.
A source close to the situation has confirmed that Hernandez did in fact cooperate with the police, but wouldn't elaborate further. Hernandez's agency declined to comment when contacted by the media and Hernandez spoken with a lawyer.
Hernandez is currently rehabbing his injured shoulder and hopes to be ready for training camp and the start of the regular season.
