Tim Tebow's NFL options are thin, if existing at all, but one former NFL quarterback is now offering him a job. Ron Jaworski has reached out on offered a deal to Tim tebow to play for his Arena Football team, the Philadelphia Soul.
Jaworski, who lead the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl XV berth as a quarterback, is a part owner of the Philadelphia Soul ans said that Tebow could greatly use the Arena Football experience. Jaworski said of hoiw Arena Football could help Tebow,
“One [criticism] of Tebow is that he is slow and methodical. He would be forced to quicken it up in this league and it would be good training for him. You can learn a lot in this league. It’s about processing information and getting the ball out … or you get whacked.”
There is a catch, however. Jaworski said that if Tebow does sign with the Soul, he would not be the starting quarterback in the City of Brotherly Love. The Soul said that Dan Raudabaugh would still be the starting quarterback and that Tebow would be used in special plays near the goal line. Soul coach Clint Dolezel has already sent Tebow a list of plays that the team would include him in.
Tebow nor his representatives have commented on Jaworski's offer.
The Philadelphia Soul isn't the first Arena Football team to offer Tebow a contract. The Omaha Beef of the Champions Professional Indoor Football League offered Tebow a $75 a game deal, but again was not guaranteed the starter's role in Omaha. The Beef never heard back from Tebow's camp.
