Danny Amendola to Donate Money to Bombing Victims

Written by

In the wake of the bombings that rocked Boston yesterday, New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola felt the need to generous in these trying times. Amendola announced on Twitter yesterday that he will donate $100 for every pass caught and $200 for every dropped pass to the Boston Marathon Relief Fund. Although Amendola is a Texas native, he does have family in Massaschusetts. Amendola caught 63 passes last season for the St. Louis Rams, he did miss some time last year with a clavicle injury. Amendola's career high for receptions is 85 back in 2010, here's hoping he shatters that record, not just for the Patriots sake, but for the Relief Fund as well. Amendola is expected to be a starter on offense, replacing Wes Welker, so, more targets are expected towards Amendola.  News of Amendola's generousity caught on quick and garnered the praise of both Patriots fans and football fans alike. One Patriots fan took to Twitter and said, "@DannyAmendola I was going to wait to see how you play to be a fan, but that tweet won me over #respect" Even a New York Jets fan had to give kudos to the newest Patriots star. The fan Tweeted, "hate the pats but this is great" For those of you scoring at home, Amendola dropped only two passes in 2012.
