New England Patriots Could Run the Table All the Way to the Super Bowl

The Patriots hold some astonishing odds to win the AFC East, the entire AFC and even the Super Bowl.

The rest of this season is looking bright for the New England Patriots. After playing possibly their best game of the season against the Denver Broncos and seeing the rest of the AFC East slowly slink back down into obscurity, the home stretch of the season doesn’t appear to feature many tough games. In fact, the Patriots have a real shot to run the table and finish the regular season 14-2.

The Patriots betting odds for the season will likely be favorable in every game it has going forward. The Patriots are favored to beat the Oakland Raiders by a touchdown in Mexico City this Sunday and will be favored by more than that in each of the five divisional games that will follow this week’s game. While the Buffalo Bills were looking pretty strong in the first half of the season, two straight losses and the benching of quarterback Tyrod Taylor spell disaster in western New York. The Miami Dolphins are dealing with their own internal strife among teammates, and the New York Jets simply can’t get over the underwhelming talent on the roster.

The only game in which New England may be favored by less than a touchdown will be the Week 15 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, a game that will likely decide the No. 1 seed in the AFC this year. The Steelers appear to be fully rounding into form over the past few weeks on both sides of the ball. Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell are playing at their absolute best, and Ben Roethlisberger seems to have shaken off his early-season struggles. There is little question that Pittsburgh will be a prominent player in the AFC playoff picture going forward.

Still, New England holds some of the best odds to make moves in the playoffs of any team in the league. The Patriots have an astonishing 99 percent chance to win the AFC East this year, and still hold 5-to-2 odds of winning the Super Bowl. With more players getting healthy every week, it’s hard to see a bump in the road of New England’s future this year.
