Tom Brady: Still Held In High Regard By Peers

Written by

This offseason has been different for the Patriots quarterback. Tom Brady’s play has come into question. With his stats taking a dip this past season and age catching up to him, some members of the media don’t even have Brady ranked in the top five quarterbacks in the NFL.

Well, don’t tell this to Brady’s peers. According to the NFL Network's yearly top 100 players countdown, voted by the players, Brady ranked higher than he did a year ago.

In the NFL all that matters in winning. Something Tom Brady is accustom to. Despite the slide in statistics and having a receiving corp with little experience, the New England Patriots managed to once again win 12 games and come within one win of making it back to the Superbowl.

Brady was rewarded for his efforts last season. The players that go against Brady, week in and week out, showed their appreciation for the future Hall of Famer. Voting Brady in at number three.

Only wide receiver Calvin Johnson and quarterback Peyton Manning finished higher in votes. With Manning being crowned number one overall.

Manning had kind words for his long time rival on the football field: “Tom Brady, I think his longevity, his consistency is always very impressive, how he comes back every year a better player than he was the year before.”

There was also a fan vote put on by the NFL Network. It’s worth noting that Brady finished in second place. Once again Peyton Manning finished first in voting.
