The Red Sox aren't playing the best baseball as of last as they fall again to the Astros 12-2. Eduardo Rodriguez couldn't even get out the second inning as the Boston pitching staff is looking shaky heading into October.

If the Red Sox win and the Yankees lose, the AL East belongs to Boston and bottles of champagne will be popped at Fenway. Tonight the Sox and Astros go head-to-head in a potential ALDS preview.

For the first time since July, David Price will be off of the DL and apart of the Red Sox pitching staff. He'll start out in the bullpen as Drew Pomeranz looks to get the W against Oakland.

Although Doug Fister had put together quite a run, his quality start streak has ended after only going 4 innings and giving up 6 earned runs in the Red Sox 7-3 loss to the Athletics. Boston's lead in the AL East is now cut down to 3 games.

Doug Fister went at least 7 innings for the 4th consecutive start as the Red Sox top the Blue Jays 6-1 to win the 3 game set and extend their lead in the AL East to 4 games.

Chris Sale is on the bump for Boston while Luis Severino will go for New York in this AL East matchup. Xander Bogaerts stays out of the lineup for the third consecutive game while the Red Sox try to extend their lead in the division to 5.5 games.

Having lost 4 games in a row, the Red Sox were desparate to get back in the win column. They did just that tonight topping the Blue Jays 6-5 behind a 4-4 night from Christian Vazquez. Drew Pomeranz got the win as he improves to 14-4 on the season.

This bad stretch for the Red Sox has been mostly due to their pitching, but today it was their bats. With Doug Fister going 7 innings and only allowing 2 earned runs, Boston couldn't get past Wade Miley and Baltimore's bullpen as the Sox lose their 4th straight.
