Boston Red Sox News and Notes: August 15

It's been an emotional 24 hours for the Boston Red Sox. Here's what you need to know for Saturday's afternoon bout with the Seattle Mariners.

Despite his season-long struggles, Joe Kelly looked strong in Boston's 15-1 win over the Mariners on Friday night earning him Amica Pitcher of the Week.

Will we see Dustin Pedroia or Clay Buchholz back on the field this season for the Sox? Will Porcello figure his stuff out in the minors?

With Mike Napoli (finally) off the Red Sox roster, Koji Uehara out for the season and all this talk of David Ortiz reaching the 500 home run mark, Red Sox Beat had a lot to cover!

Former GM of the Artizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Angels Jerry Dipoto has been hired by the Red Sox on an interim basis to help with offseason moves. DiPoto left the Angels organization in July due to a "personal issue."

Daniel Nava was claimed off waivers after being designated for assignment by Boston on July 30.

Boston placed a total of eight players on waivers. But don't panic.
