Report: Jake Peavy Traded To SF Giants

The Red Sox made their first splash prior to the July 31 Trade Deadline, as they dealt starter Jake Peavy to the San Francisco Giants for two pitching prospects Saturday morning.

Juan Francisco was a double shy of the cycle, Marcus Stroman pitched 6 innings of no-hit ball, and Rubby De La Rosa still has not figured out how to pitch away from Fenway Park in an 8-0 Blue Jays victory.

A source close to TD Garden told our executives at CLNS Radio that the Boston Celtics season ticket sales have jumped by nearly 20 percent since the team signed Evan Turner on Monday.

After a season high in runs (14), hits (18), and home runs (4) on Monday night in the first game against Toronto, the Sox had trouble producing when it counted and the Blue Jays defeated Boston 7-3 on Tuesday night.

Report: Celtics To Sign Evan Turner

Boston is finalizing a deal to bring the number 2 pick in the 2010 NBA draft, Evan Turner, to their squad, as first reported by the Boston Herald's Steve Bulpett.

The Celtics new secondary logo, known as "The Lucky Alternate" is a similar logo to the one that Red Auerbach's brother, Zang, created back in the early 1960s, according to Baxter Holmes

Behind another dominant performance by Jon Lester and continued success by the offense, the Red Sox swept the Kansas City Royals and have now won four games in a row and seven out of the last eight to improve their record to 46-52

On a night that was all about Derek Jeter and his final All-Star Game, he collected two hits, Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run homer and Mike Trout had a double, triple and RBI. The American League won 5-3 and will have homefield advantage in the 2014 World Series.

Rajon Rondo Rumor Update

There was speculation yesterday that the Houston Rockets wanted to continue trade talks with the Boston Celtics about Rajon Rondo. The Boston Herald's Steve Bulpett shot down these ideas today in the never ending Rondo saga.

Just a day after saying that he could return to the Celtics at Target Field last night according to WEEI's Ben Rohrberg, Kris Humphries has agreed to sign with the Washington Wizards.
