The Baltimore Orioles blasted four home runs off Eduardo Rodriguez and survived a late-game rally by the Red Sox. Baltimore won 7-5 in the series opener.

The Red Sox look to win the rubber game against the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday behind Drew Pomeranz, who takes on Mike Pelfrey. Pablo Sandoval returns from the DL and I have more notes for you in the final game of the series.

The Red Sox used a 7-run 7th inning to win their third straight game and second straight against the Texas Rangers at Fenway. Chris Sale picked up the win and Sam Travis had two singles in his major league debut.

The Oakland Athletics roughed up Hector Velazquez in his major league debut to the tune of six runs in five innings. Boston's offense could not do much off Sonny Gray after the first few innings and the A's won 8-3.
