Chris Sale gives up season high four home runs as Red Sox fall to Blue Jays 9-4

Written by

We recap the second game of the Red Sox series with the Toronto Blue Jays.

- Chris Sale gives up a season high four home runs in one game and his third multi-home run game allowed in his last six starts.

- Two of those four home runs came courtesy of Josh Donaldson who took Sale deep in each of his first two at bats.

- Sale (likely) finishes his 2017 regular season with a 17-8 record and a 2.90 ERA and a MLB best 308 strikeouts

- With the loss and a Yankees win, the Red Sox magic number remains at three while their lead in the AL East diminishes to three games with five games left to play.
