World Series Game Two Recap

Written by

St. Louis Cardinals  defeated the Boston Red Sox Thursday night  4-2 to even up the World Series at 1-1. Pitcher Michael Wacha only allowed two runs on three hits in six innings.

Carlos Beltran showed no signs of being hurt as he was 2 for 4 with an RBI.

John Lackey didn't pitch badly in his first  World Series appearance since his Game 7 win in 2002. He gave up three runs on five hits in 6.1 innings. Lackey just couldn't hold the lead Ortiz gave him in the six inning.

St. Louis' bullpen combined for one-hit in relief. Carlos Martinez got six outs in the seven and eight innings. Trevor Rosenthal came on in the ninth inning to record the save.

The Red Sox  lost their first World Series game since Game seven of the 1986.

The Red Sox will attempt to take a 2-1 lead in Game three on Saturday at 8:07 p.m. eastern. Game will air on Fox.
