With win tonight, Boston Red Sox will secure playoff spot

Written by

With the past three seasons being miserable for Boston Red Sox fans, the team tonight finally has a chance to make

The last date that Red Sox nation celebrated a playoff clinching spot was on September 30, 2009 at Fenway Park. With the best record in the American League, not only does the team have chance to clinch a ticket into the playoffs but are three games away from wrapping up the AL East division for first time since 2007.

Boston will have the right guy in Jake Peavy on the mound tonight vs. the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway. Peavy has pitched in some big September games with the San Diego Padres during their playoff runs and is no strange to a big start like tonight will entail.

If the Red Sox capture a playoff birth tonight, be sure to stay tuned to CLNSRadio.com as we will have more on this big story.
