Boston Red Sox/Baltimore Orioles Recap

Written by

Instead of taking his aggression out on the phone, On Sunday David Ortiz took it out on the Baltimore Orioles’ pitching staff.

The Red Sox’s DH finished the game 4-4 and hitting his 20th home run, in Boston’s 5-0 win over the Orioles. The Red Sox took two out of three in the weekend series. Ortiz wasn’t the only Red Sox player to have a dominate outing in Sunday’s game.

Lester stuck out eight while allowing only four singles in seven innings. The Red Sox contained an Oriole offense that hasn’t hit a homerun in their last two games, both losses. Coming into Sunday’s game, the Orioles led the majors in homeruns.

With the Tampa Bay Rays losing ninth to the Yankees 6-5 today, the Sox moved back into first place in the AL East, a half-game ahead of the Rays.

Now the Red Sox return home Monday to play in a make-up game against pitcher David Price and the Rays. Pitching for the Red Sox will be Felix Doubront. First pitch will be at 6:10 p.m. eastern.
