Now that the All-Star break is over, it's back to baseball. The first series out of the break is maybe the best rivarly in all of sports.
The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox will began a three-game set Friday night. Both teams will start left-handers in Felix Doubron for the Red Sox (6-3, 3.91 ERA) and Andy Pettitte for the Yankees (7-6, 4.39).
Yankees' second baseman Robinson Cano is expected to play Friday night after suffering an injury during the All-Star game last Tuesday night.
The American League leading Boston Red Sox (58-39) will 13 of their first 16 games after the All-Star break at home. This is a big deal considering they will play the Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays and current NL West division leader Arizona Diamondnbacks all at home during this stretch.
The Yankees (51-44) begin a seven-game road trip as the are six games behind Boston in the AL East.
