Recapping Xander Bogaerts first weekend in Triple-A

Written by

It's no question Boston Red Sox fans are getting eager to see top prospect Xander Bogaerts make his major league debut. At only 20 years, he has certainly showed fans why he deserves to be the organization's best up and coming player.

At only 20 years old, Bogaerts last Thursday became the youngest player in Triple-A baseball and the youngest ever to suit up for the Pawtucket Red Sox .

Over the weekend against the Buffalo Bisons, he appeared in his first four Triple-A games hitting .214 with a home run and two runs batted in over 14 at bats. Manager Gary DiSarcina was hitting Bogaerts in the number six spot for most of the weekend and with a deep Pawsox lineup, it is an added benefit if Bogaerts hits in that spot.

Expect him to remain with the Pawsox for the remainder of the season and could be a September call up if he continues to perform well in Triple-A and build off his strong campaign he had in Double-A Portland.
