Victorino heads to hospital after collision with RF wall

Written by

According to Rob Bradford of WEEI,Boston Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino headed to Mass General Hospital after Sunday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Victorino hurt himself after trying to rob a home run in the fourth inning.

He is getting his ribs and back examined by doctors and according to manager John Farrell, Victorino could be ready to return to the lineup on Tuesday in Tampa Bay if all goes well. Farrell was quoted in Bradford's piece by saying "Everything points to him being ready on Tuesday".

This is certainly good for Red Sox nation as Victorino has been a good addition to the team in 2013 and would have been a vital loss if he had to miss any signifcant time on the disabled list.
