On Thursday, the team announced Drew Pomeranz will open the 2017 season on the disabled list.

Opening Day is just four days away and the Red Sox have placed one of their left-handed pitchers on the 10-day disabled list.

And no, it's not David Price (yet).

The team announced Thursday before their spring training game that Drew Pomeranz has a left forearm flexor strain and will miss the beginning of the season.

Pomeranz has appeared in four spring training games and is 0-2 with a 8.25 ERA. In his last outing, he gave up five hits and three runs, all earned.

He received a stem cell injection in his elbow after the team was eliminated from the ALDS in October. He went 11-12 with a 3.32 ERA last season with the San Diego Padres and Red Sox and 3-5 with 4.59 ERA with Boston after being traded.
