Opening Day is just four days away and the Red Sox have placed one of their left-handed pitchers on the 10-day disabled list.
And no, it's not David Price (yet).
The team announced Thursday before their spring training game that Drew Pomeranz has a left forearm flexor strain and will miss the beginning of the season.
Pomeranz has appeared in four spring training games and is 0-2 with a 8.25 ERA. In his last outing, he gave up five hits and three runs, all earned.
He received a stem cell injection in his elbow after the team was eliminated from the ALDS in October. He went 11-12 with a 3.32 ERA last season with the San Diego Padres and Red Sox and 3-5 with 4.59 ERA with Boston after being traded. If you want MORE coverage of your team, check out Red Sox Beat Podcast here on CLNS Radio!
