Andrew Miller is headed out too along with Lester and Lackey.
On this busy trade deadline day, the Sox have made their third move of the day with less than an hour left to make deals.
The Sox received Orioles number three prospect Eduardo Rodriguez, who was currently in AA for Baltimore. CSNNE's Sean McAdam shed some light on the 21-year old:
Red Sox get LHP Eduardo Rodriguez for Miller. Ranked as No. 3 prospect in BAL system, projected as middle-of-rotation starter. At Double A.— Sean McAdam (@Sean_McAdam) July 31, 2014
Miller has been extremely solid for Boston this season. He is 3-5 with a 2.34 ERA. He has improved as the season has progressed. His ERA In 2013 was also low, at 2.64. Don't let his career 5.06 ERA fool you. He is a solid pitcher that will definitely help Baltimore.
There were reports that the Detroit Tigers had strong interest in Miller, but the O's ultimately came out with him.
Rodriguez this year in AA has posted a 3-7 record with a 4.79 ERA.
I know I'll miss Miller's awesome hair and beard that is coming back in full force now.
More trades coming? We'll see.
