Red Sox: Mookie Betts Heading Back to Pawtucket

Written by

Mookie Betts will not be playing against the Kansas City Royals today.

Instead Betts is on his way to Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox, per a report from Over the Monster.

Why is Betts on his way to Pawtucket?

To make room for Shane Victorino, who is returning from the DL, after resting a sore hamstring, that has hampered his 2014 campaign so far.

Betts, can hold his head high on his way back to the minors. This was his first taste of the Big Leagues in a Red Sox uniform, appearing in ten games.

Betts hopes to continue to building off a strong season with Pawtucket, considered one of, if not the best, hitters in the minor leagues this season. Amassing eight home runs, 48 RBIs, 21 doubles, four triple and 29 stolen bases, so far this year.
