Boston Celtics Select Marcus Smart With No. 6 Overall Pick

Written by

Marcus Smart is the Boston Celtics choice at No. 6.

After Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge spoke highly of Marcus Smart's game, characterizing it as "fire," he elected to make the Smart decision.

Smart is your typical natural basketball player. He's an impressive on-ball defender, can score with ease in the paint and brings an attitude to the hardwood.

There are questions about his shooting abilities, but at age 20, he has plenty of time to develop an 18-foot jumper. His strength is his ability to create movement off the dribble and his intensity to fly into the open floor.

The former Oklahoma State Cowboy posted 18.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.9 steals in his sophomore year at OSU.
