Report: Boston Celtics May Look To Trade Up For Joel Embiid

Written by

If Kevin Love is unavaliable, will the Boston Celtics be calling teams to move up the ladder for Joel Embiid?

After various sources report that Klay Thompson may now be added to a package in a Minnesota Timberwolves-Golden State Warriors trade for Kevin Love, the Boston Celtics may have look ahead to Plan B.

Boston, who owns the sixth pick in the 2014 NBA draft, has interest to move up from their ladder and snag Joel Embiid, despite the latest report of his stress fracture in foot and undergoing surgery, as a source informs CSNNE's A. Sherrod Blakely.

...In fact, a source tells CSNNE.com that the Celtics will give some serious thought to potentially moving up in the draft to select him.

The Celtics have been projected to select Aaron Gordon and if the Celtics lose out on Embiid, the versatile power forward may possibly be their third option. Boston has an immense amount of luxury due to their future first-round picks and their younger players, so a deal could be handled.

Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge has multiple options to decide on, and if Love becomes a Warrior, Ainge could look to draft the 7-footer with their position or trade up.
