The Celtics hopes may be slipping to acqure Kevin Love in a trade this summer.
ESPN's Marc Stein tweeted this at 2:25 Thursday:
ESPN sources say Golden State has indeed made Klay Thompson available to Wolves, greatly increasingly Warriors' hopes of getting Kevin Love— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) June 19, 2014
According to Baxter Holmes of the Boston Globe , The Celtics' offer for Love isn't even in the top three for best offer because of the heavy reliance on draft picks.
Flip Saunders has said that he wants proven players over draft picks, which might ultimately be the downfall for Boston.
As with everything, however, rumors are rumors and the Warriors and Flip Saunders may just be trying to stir the pot and cause some controversy.
The Celtics aren't putting too much stock in other team's rumors. Celtics director of player personnel, Austin Ainge said, "Ignore all of it."
As the draft is now just a week away, the intensity of talks increase and we could be looking at a Kevin Love deal soon.
