In his weekly appearance with 98.5 The Sports Hub this morning, Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge was forced to laugh a few times given the questions he was asked.
The first topic introduced by Fred Toucher and Rich Shertenlieb of Toucher and Rich had to do with Gary Tanguay of CSNNE, and his belief that Rajon Rondo had bought into the tanking process. Tanguay thought, as the two radio hosts pointed out, was that the future of the Celtics was very bright given the fact that Rondo was ready to tank in order to get a high draft pick.
His evidence: Kevin Garnett's strip of Rondo at the end of the Nets-Celtics game this past week that effectively sealed the win for Brooklyn.
"That's very silly," Ainge said as he laughed.
Ainge then talked about possible trades, hinting that the Celtics were still active in the market and willing to make deals. When the topic again shifted back to Rondo, however, Ainge denied that his all-star point guard was in any real trade scenarios that the team was considering.
"I don't think there's anything serious yet," Ainge said.
