Rajon Rondo back in lineup Friday for Boston Celtics
BOSTON -- The NBA's worst kept secret is out.
In what as reported as far back as a week-and-a-half ago by Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports: Rajon Rondo will return to the Boston Celtics lineup Friday night as the Celtics take on the Los Angeles Lakers.
Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge confirmed that Rondo will indeed start at point guard for the Boston Celtics Friday night.
Ainge announced the news on his weekly appearance on 98.5 FM's Toucher and Rich. Then met with reporters in Waltham.
"Barring any setbacks, I think he's planning on playing tomorrow."
After missing nearly a year of playing competitive basketball at a professional level, Ainge is unsure on what to expect of his highest paid player. However, he is confident in him being able to return to playing at a respectable level.
"What I've seen throughout my professional basketball career is that the ACL injury is something that every player has to overcome and coming back mentally, not just physically. I anticipate some adjustments and just getting used to playing and feeling confident and returning to the player that he was."
