NBA Video: Cleveland Cavs coach Mike Brown, Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters on Andrew Bynum Suspension

Written by

BOSTON – Mike Brown lost his starting center to an indefinite suspension, but he isn't dwelling on it. With the news of Andrew Bynum's suspension breaking just hours before his Cleveland Cavaliers faced the Boston Celtics, Brown spent his entire 11:30 AM press conference deflecting inquires into the suspension.

"Again, and I'm not trying to be funny, but he's suspended indefinitely and we all know what that means," Brown told The Garden Report numerous times.

But Brown maintained that he was focused on the road ahead for the team as it remains. "We've got 14 guys in our locker room that are really focused and determined and ready to take on any challenge that's in front of them.

"They are great guys, focused guys, and they know how to play the game the right way and that's what I'm focused on. Just helping those guys win ball games."

Inside the locker room, Dion Waiters put a unique spin on the situation, comparing Bynum's situation to when Michael Jordan left the NBA for baseball.

"Michael Jordan did the same thing, going to play baseball," Waiters told The Garden Report. "That didn't work, so he started playing basketball again. So, who knows? You just never know."

Was told issue w/Cavs C Andrew Bynum has been brewing for past month & lack of commitment to team reached tipping point at practice Friday.

More details like the above are sure to emerge in the coming weeks, but it's pretty clear that Andrew Bynum's career with the Cavs and in the NBA is beyond it's last leg.
