It is not too often that a snowy Tuesday afternoon in December yields major news in the sporting world. However, on Tuesday the opposite scenario occurred. Per CBSBoston.com Donny Marshall, a former analyst for Comcast SportsNet New England and a current analyst for Yahoo Sports said on the Yahoo Sports Dash Tuesday that Boston Celtics All Star point guard Rajon Rondo was part of a “major deal in the works” that would send him to the Sacramento Kings.
Marshall’s story falls in the with a report from NBA Buzz that had the Kings sending Isaiah Thomas, Ben McLemore, Marcus Thornton, Jason Thompson, and two first-round picks to Beantown in exchange for Rondo.
However, it appears that is not the case. Comcast SportsNet New England Boston Celtics Insider A. Sherrod Blakely denied the report later Tuesday afternoon saying that according to one of his sources, the Rondo to Sacramento deal is “not happening.”
Spoke w/source moments ago who said the latest Rajon Rondo rumor that he will be traded to the Sacramento #Kings, is "not happening."
Rumors have been swirling regarding whether the four-time All Star will be traded, but it appears that Rondo will remain in Celtic Green for now.
