The Boston Celtics announced today that they have exercised a contract option on forward Jared Sullinger. The big-man is getting quite a treat on Halloween this year.
As a rookie, Sullinger averaged 6.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. However, the second year forward only appeared in 45 games last season due to lumbar disc surgery he underwent.
By all accounts, he appears to be back to full strength after averaging 10.1 points and 4.6 rebounds during the preseason. Sullinger was suspended for the first game of the season for an off-the court incident.
Now that they've locked him down for next year as well, the 6'9" forward figures to be in the long-term plans of the team.
