The Boston Celtics picked up their first win of the preseason in dominant fashion, defeating the New York Knicks 111-81.
The Celtics controlled the game the entire way, taking a commanding 28-15 lead at the end of the first quarter. The team retained the lead throughout the second quarter, ending the half with a score of 52-43.
The second half went just as well for the Celtics as the first half, as they outscored the Knicks by seven in the third quarter and fourteen in the fourth.
The game's high scorer was surprisingly Ike Diagu of New York, who totaled 21 points and 8 rebounds.
The player of the game for the Celtics was rookie Kelly Olynyk, who recorded 15 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and a block.
While Olynyk performed the best, it was a team effort that led the Celtics to victory. Six players totaled double didgit points, which is a must for a team without a go to scorer.
While this game was promising for a struggling Celtics team, the team is still just 1-3 in the pre season and is looking like a lottery team in the upcoming season.
