The Boston Celtics will welcome Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in their return to the Garden on Sunday January 26. The NBA released the 2013-2014 regular season schedule Wednesday evening, The Celtics first regular season game against their former stars will be Tuesday, December 10, in Brooklyn.
Doc Rivers makes his return to Boston the very next day on Wednesday, December 11. The Celtics will then face the Clippers at the Staples Center on Wednesday, January 8 in the middle of their annual west coast road trip.
Brad Stevens; squad will see a significant decrease in its national TV exposure. The C’s will not play in an ABC Sunday showcase game (in fact, only eight teams will play on ABC) as well as on TNT. They will play three times on both ESPN and NBA TV.
The Celtics will start the season in Toronto on Wednesday, October 30 and host Milwaukee for the home opener on Friday, November 1. They will have a difficult stretch to start off 2014, as they face Chicago, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Denver, the Clippers, Golden State, Portland and Houston over the course of two weeks.
Two-time defending champion Miami Heat do not return to Boston until Wednesday March 19, but the Pacers will come to town early on Friday November 22. Former fan favorite Al Jefferson will be one of the first guests in the Garden this year as his new team, the Charlotte Bobcats, visit on Wednesday, November 13.
