Los Angeles Times reporter Brad Turner tweeted Saturday evening that Doc Rivers has been informed that the Los Angeles Clippers will not accept the Boston Celtics' proposal and he will remain with the Celtics.
Rumors of a possible trade that would send Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to LA along with Rivers for a package featuring Eric Bledsoe and DeAndre Jordan went from a bit of smoke to a wildfire Saturday with reports from Y! Sports and ESPN claiming the two teams had entered serious neogtiations. But Turner's latest tweets report that the Clippers are now turning their attention to Lionel Hollins and Brian Shaw, one of which who will be extended an offer next week.
Rivers, who Danny Ainge declared back in the saddle just a few weeks ago, has been considering a new gig in light of the possibility that the Celtics will enter a rebuilding phase, according to sources. While no sides have made any statements, anonymous sources have claimed that Doc would welcome the opportunity to coach KG and Chris Paul in Los Angeles and compete for another title.
The golf course selection wouldn't hurt either.
