As the Boston Marathon suspects are being hunted down, and the city of Boston mends it's wounds, the world has huddled up behind New England's finest, to show support and strength. Long-time member of the Boston Celtics, and current Memphis Grizzlie, Tony Allen reacted to the horrifying events by calling his friend Paul Pierce.
Tony Allen played 6 years with the Celtics, met his fiance in Boston and his heart remains a Bostonian.
“I called Paul Pierce,” he said. “I got his number. I texted him to see was everything cool. He was taken aback. He said it was wild up there. He said he never would have expected that to happen, but everything’s cool on his end. I prayed for everybody else.”
Allen's former team is gearing up for what may be their final playoff run of this era. In the meantime, Tony is in Memphis, gearing up for one of many playoff runs to follow. Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and company are on a total different path then their former teammate. Today, however, all hearts and minds are in Boston.
