Should the Celtics have traded for Jusuf Nurkic?

Written by

With the NCAA tournament in sight, Justin Poulin and Jon Duke take a look at some of the lottery players to watch for. Remember Harry Giles?

Jayson Tatum’s game is reviewed and is a player the C’s could look at if they fall out of the top 2 in the draft.

Jusuf Nurkic is discussed. Did the Celtics blow an opportunity? Nurkic went to Portland for a fairly cheap price. “How about Terry Rozier and a first round pick?” offers Justin. His contract is discussed along with the ability to trade him at a later date if necessary. “What sort of fit does he have here next to Al Horford?” asks Jon Duke.

The guys take a look around the league as the season winds to a close. How would a Warriors Rockets match look like? And are the Warriors vulnerable now with Durant’s injury in play? The Washington Wizards are put under a microscope. Despite their hot play, their team is overly dependent on it’s starting rotation. Despite the team humming along, they can easily fall of if anything changes.

If the Celtics can stay as the 2 seed, we could see an epic second round between Boston and the Wizards. Washington has a heavy road schedule coming up, while the Celtics will be home down the stretch. Home court could be huge, given that these two teams do not like each other.

Finally, Dwyane Wade and the Chicago Bulls are discussed. What is going on over there? Why does the media keep saying the Bulls should not trade Jimmy Butler? How do the Bulls get better if they have nothing besides Butler? The Celtics, by comparison, blew things up in 2013 and have quickly risen.
