Celtics Lead Wizards 56-52 at the Half in Garnett and Pierce's Return

Written by

BOSTON – In Kevin Garnett's long awaited return to the court, the Celtics hold a slender lead over the Wizards at 56-52. Brandon Bass has eight points and five rebounds (two offensive), but Pierce is ice cold at 2-for-9 from the field.

Garnett scorwed a pair of baskets and grabbed two rebounds, looking a little off with his shot. However, Garnett moved well and landed from rebounds comfortably. His passing made an immediate impact on the game and the difference in the Celtics' ball movement with him on the floor was immediately apparent.

John Wall, not surprisingly, was the star of the first half, scoring 10 points along with 6 assists. Wall carved up the Celtics defense with ease and nailed three jumpers from the elbow.

Trevor Ariza and Martell Webster spread the floor well, each going 2-for-4 from deep.
