ESPN Boston: Will Celtics Trade Rondo?

Written by

Chris Forsberg and the crew at ESPN Boston are organizing a series of discussions involving anything Boston Celtics. CLNS writers, Jared Weiss, along with myself, have been asked to participate. Let your Celtics voice be heard.

The question has been mulled about for quite some time, and yet, both experts and casual fans alike still have no clue whether Rajon Rondo will be in a Celtics uniform next season.

Some indicate that Rondo’s accepting of a leadership role has him marked for a long term extension. Others will point to his desire to be pursued next summer as an unrestricted free agent as a sign that he may want to move on.

Danny Ainge has maintained that he expects to see Rondo in Celtics green for the foreseeable future, but this also comes from the same general manager who has tried to trade Rondo on numerous occasions.

Does it benefit the Celtics to let Rondo play this year out – his first full season of health since the ACL injury – and see if he fits into their long term goals?

Or should Ainge find some value for a player that may be in another uniform come 2015?

Let your opinion be heard at ESPN Boston!
