Boston Bruins Video: Players and Coaches on Remarkable Game 2 Comeback

Written by

BOSTON – It was a comeback for the ages, as a listless Bruins squad suddenly came to life to score four goals in the final period and even their series with the Montreal Canadiens.

Reilly Smith scored the game-winner for the B's, putting home a great pass from Torey Krug to complete the remarkably fast and sudden comeback. Smith, who was named the first star of the game, was surprised he ended up with the recognition. "There was a huge momentum swing in that third period as soon as we got that first goal and it kind of just built up until that moment," Smith said. "So there was a lot of emotions and a lot of passion going in to that. I was obviously just really happy that it went in to the back of the net because, especially in this series, [Carey] Price has stood on his head a couple times where we thought we had for sure goals and we he has made big saves."

A big spark at the end was the return of Shawn Thornton, who briefly left the game after being taken down by P.K. Subban. Thornton was not happy about the play.

Brad Marchand was having a terrible game before earning a pair of assists less than four minutes apart in the third period to tie the game. The Noseface Killah spoke with a bloodied nose after

the win.

Patrice Bergeron had the tying goal as well as an assist to spark the incredible comeback. He expressed satisfaction with the turnaround and is looking ahead to Game 3.

It was a rough day for Tuukka Rask in the net, who gave up three goals to the Habs.

Zdeno Chara showed some nifty puck handling and was his typical enforcer self near the net. He talked about the team's resiliency.

Dougie Hamilton had another big game, opening the scoring on the Bruins' big comeback.

Torey Krug had a great assist on the Smith game-winner and talked about that play and the comeback after the game.

Claude Julien was happy with the win, but wasn't enjoying the "crap" the Bruins had to put up with in the third period.
