Olympic Hockey Rosters announced, Boston Bruins players flood the 2014 games.

Written by

There have been several Bruins skaters chosen for the Olympic hockey teams of their former native countries. To the much disappointment of everyone, there were no Bruins players chosen for the United States men’s hockey team.

The players that were chosen were the following:

·      Patrice Bergeron: Bergeron was selected by the Canadian Olympic team, which will be his second time doing so as he was a member of the Vancouver games, when Canada won the gold medal.

·      Tuukka Rask was selected to be apart of the Finland Olympic team.

·      David Krejci was selected to be apart of the Czech Republic Olympic team.

·      Zdeno Chara was  selected to not only be apart of the Slovakia Olympic team, but the captain of the squad as well just like he is in Boston.

·      Loui Eriksson was selected to be apart of the Sweden Olympic team.

It wasn’t just players that were being named to be apart of the Olympics, as Bruins coach Claude Julien is an assistant coach for Team Canada, along with GM Peter Chiarelli becoming apart of Canada’s management team.  The only player that isn’t a part of an Olympic team that many thought would make it is forward Milan Lucic. He was being looked as becoming apart of Team Canada, even went to orientation but wasn’t selected for the final roster. Don’t be upset as a Bruin fan because this just means that Lucic will get some good rest during the Olympic games.
