Bruins claim forward Kaspars Daugavins off waivers from Senators

Written by

With the NHL trade deadline one week away, the Boston Bruins decided to add some depth by claiming forward Kasapars Daugavins off waivers from the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday.Daugavins, who recently scored his first goal of the season in a recent meeting against the Bruins, is expected to join the team after he works out some visa issues. He is regarded as being a very likable teammate and will add some depth to the Bruins third line until they most likely make a trade at the deadline next week.In 85 career NHL games, the 24 year old has scored six goals and tallied eight assists for 14 points and a minus nine rating. This isn't the most exciting move for Bruins fans to rave about but expect the team to be very active over the coming week to increasing the scoring depth for a big playoff run. Daugavins isn't a long term solution for Boston but can get the job done if used the right role on the bottom two lines. Follow our CLNS Bruins coverage on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/clnsbruinsFollow me on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/hoganreports
