The first preseason game for the Celtics is on the way, and to be honest, it really doesn’t matter who the opponent is because this team is all about preparation and creating a measuring stick for improving along the way. Should We Be Concerned About Preseason Injuries?

Preseason games have not yet started and already the Celtics are nursing injuries to Jermaine Oneal and Delonte West, albeit minor. Jermaine took the last two days off of training camp to try and rest a hamstring injury and Delonte has been experiencing some back spasms. Doc does not appear to be too concerned, but as fans who hear how fragile and old these Celtics are, we have to wonder whether this is a sign of things to come or whether these are just part of the small bumps in the road to Banner 18.

Gaffney Waived. What Does This Mean?

According to Chris Forsberg’s twitter, Tony Gaffney has been waived from the Celtics. This is a somewhat surprising early camp revelation in light of Doc’s continued emphasis in camp on defense, and the fact that Gaffney’s talent has not yet been fully evaluated in preseason games.
