Doc Rivers looked defeated after his team met that fate against the Lakers. Kevin Garnett was left off the All-Star team for the first time in over a decade. Paul Pierce missed his chance to nail the game-winner. Ray Allen was open on the last play of regulation, but Pierce couldn’t get him the ball.

The Celtics played at a breakneck pace to close out the half, converting three consecutive fast breaks to hold on to a 47-45 lead over the Lakers at halftime.
